Danza!
Wrapping up Year 8 Dance for 2021
This term our Year 8 Dance students have been putting together a dance piece during class. This week, they performed to their peers. The energy of the crowd was displayed by the support the students showed each other as they cheered during impressive high jumps and flips, showing off some moves they’ve learned this term – a positive way to wrap up Dance for the year!
FIRST LEGO League Challenge
On Saturday, our Year 7 Gifted and Talented students competed in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge. This is an international competition where students have to create an innovation project about a solution to improve transport, code a LEGO robot they designed to complete missions and demonstrate the core values of the competition throughout the day. This was the first time Harrisdale SHS competed and received the “Breakthrough Award” and also placed second in the “Innovation Project Award”.
HSHS’s Saxophone Ensemble visits Harrisdale Primary
We were honoured to be invited to attend Harrisdale Primary School and have a small group perform a couple of pieces in their concert. Our Harrisdale SHS Saxophone Ensemble had a fantastic time on stage, and we really enjoyed watching the young, upcoming musical stars perform their pieces. We look forward to having many of you join us as Harrisdale SHS Music students in the coming years!
