Transition to High School

Transition Program

Our transition program is an opportunity for future Year 7 students to explore our school, meet their future classmates, and learn about school routines, expectations, and our teaching and learning programs.

During the transition program, students will have the opportunity to explore our modern facilities and take part in activities that introduce them to various subjects, including STEM, HASS, Technologies, The Arts and Health & Physical Education. It promises to be an engaging and informative time for our future Year 7 students.

Parents of enrolled students will be emailed details about our transition program closer to the event.

Tips For a Smooth Transition

Moving from primary to secondary school is a significant event in every child’s education journey. A new school, with new teachers and new ways of learning requires some adjustment so be prepared to support them as they settle into this new environment. To help make the transition a little easier, here are some tips:

Orientation

Our orientation program is focused on supporting a smooth start to the school year by helping students feel settled and ready to learn from day one. During their orientation, students will:

  • Receive their timetables and get to know their home room or mentor teacher.
  • Meet key members of staff, including the Year 7 Coordinator and support team.
  • Go over important information about school routines, expectations, and support services.
  • Take part in team-building activities to strengthen connections with classmates.

The aim of our orientation program is to ensure that all students feel welcomed, prepared, and confident as they begin their high school journey.
