Our English curriculum is designed to meet the diverse needs of all students. From lower school through to Senior School, we provide a range of learning pathways to ensure that each student is appropriately challenged, engaged, and supported. We offer mainstream, Gifted and Talented Academic Program and Harrisdale Extension Academic Program (HEAP) classes in lower school leading to pathways in Senior School including ATAR English, ATAR English Literature and General English.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, which builds upon the Australian Curriculum while addressing the unique educational needs of students in Western Australia. This ensures that our students are receiving a relevant, engaging, and future-focused education that prepares them for academic and professional success.
Harrisdale Senior High School is committed to extending the learning of our high-achieving students. In Year 9 and 10, students have the opportunity to choose the Power of Speech English elective, which is designed for students with a passion for effective communication and the desire to learn how to influence, inspire, and connect with others through the powerful expression of ideas and emotions.
