We hold the belief that we have a responsibility for the wellbeing of both our staff and students, with a commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment for everyone. For learning to occur students must feel a sense of belonging. We emphasise the value of connection and nurture a growth mindset to elevate school spirit, fostering a positive culture within our school.
Balancing Academics and Wellbeing
At Harrisdale SHS, we encourage students to engage in a wide range of activities that enhance learning and critical thinking, while also preparing them for exams and life beyond school. Just as importantly, we promote a healthy balance between academic success and overall wellbeing.
Supportive Teams
Our dedicated Student Services teams—across both senior and lower school—foster a nurturing environment. Home Room teachers, Year and House Coordinators provide first-line support, while our broader team includes Student Service Managers, Support Officers, Chaplains, Nurses, First Aid Officers, and Psychologists. Together, they help create a culture of care and belonging.
Celebrating Diversity
We proudly celebrate the rich cultural backgrounds within our school community. Events like Harmony Day, Diwali, and NAIDOC Week reflect our commitment to inclusion, understanding, and unity among students and staff.
Inclusivity and Support
Inclusivity is a core value at Harrisdale SHS. Through the Wandjoo Support Centre, we provide tailored support to meet individual needs, nurture positive mindsets, and help every student grow with confidence.
