School Spirit and Culture
At Harrisdale SHS, we pride ourselves on our vibrant House system, which aims to cultivate a strong sense of belonging and school spirit, while nurturing students’ social development.
The Harrisdale SHS Houses are named after neighbouring streets: Keane, Skeet, Harris, and Forrest. Upon enrolment, each student is assigned to a House, where they remain throughout their entire school journey.
Students compete in various House competitions to earn House and Harrisdale Way points, participating in activities such as sporting events, academic competitions, community service initiatives, and arts engagements. Further, each House organises events for its members including barbecues, theatre nights, dinners, break-time gatherings, and home room activities.
More than just friendly competition, the House system brings students together, fosters meaningful relationships, and helps every student feel seen, supported, and proud to be part of something bigger.
