Wednesday 1 February 2017 will be etched as a proud moment in Harrisdale Senior High School’s history. On that date, an excited and eager group of foundation students commenced their learning journey at their new, local high school.
The students, looking magnificent in their school uniforms gathered with their families at the front entrance before moving to the under croft to meet their teachers and making their way to the Sports Hall for our historic Founders’ Assembly.
The assembly was attended by many prominent political, community and educational leaders, including the Premier of WA, Minister for Education, Director General, and Mayor of City of Armadale. They were joined by our staff, students and families for the official opening by the Premier of Western Australia.
The highlight was, undoubtedly, the Premier handing the official announcement over to the students. In front of a full house in our sports hall, the Year 7 Class of 2017 declared our school open!
The students are to be commended for their wonderful manners and friendly smiles during the assembly and throughout the day.
