“Do it for Dolly Day” holds significant importance as it commemoratesthe life of Amy “Dolly” Everett, a young girl who tragically took herown life as a result of bullying. This day serves as a poignant reminder of theimpact of bullying and the importance of fostering a culture of kindness, empathy, and respect within our school community. More information can be foundat the following link: https://www.dollysdream.org.au/event/do-it-for-dolly-day-2024/home.
To mark this occasion, a series of activities aimed at raising awareness andpromoting a positive anti-bullying message have been organised:
- Home Room Activity: Each Home Room session will include discussions and activities centered around the theme of kindness and standing up against bullying.
- Gold Coin Donation: We encourage students to participate in a gold coin donation during Home Room on May 10. Student Councillors will visit all Home Rooms on Friday 10 May to collect gold coin donations and return donations to Student Services. All proceeds will go towards supporting anti-bullying initiatives through the Dolly’s Dream Foundation.
- Wear Blue Accessories: Students are invited to wear blue accessories on “Do it for Dolly Day” to symbolize their support for the anti-bullying cause. Whether it’s a blue ribbon, bracelet, or badge, let’s unite in spreading a message of kindness and solidarity.
