Today marks the start of a fantastic opportunity now available to Year 8 girls wishing to get involved in Building and Construction! ????
The National Association of Women in Construction – NAWIC WA Chapter in collaboration with the Construction Training Fund and MPA Skills invited Year 8 female students to participate in a fun-filled day in a Try-a-Trade program. Students spent the day at MPA Skills in Maylands where they had the opportunity to try three diverse trades, trying their hand at painting, plumbing, and carpentry, which included rigging a sprinkler system and a session on safety using carpentry equipment before creating their own initials from wood.
The students left the day excited and happy with their new skillset, along with a goodie bag and their very own hi-vis vests.
