Well done to the Year 12 Drama students, who have worked hard for the last term to put together their production of The One Day of the Year by Alan Seymour which they performed on Friday to students and families. The students worked beyond the role of the actor with designated roles in lighting, sound, set and props, costume, publicity, and front of the house to realise this drama work. The piece explores controversial topics of the celebrations around Anzac Day and how this recognises the lives lost.
Year 7 Drama and Year 8 Dance Showcase
Well done to our lower school Arts students who performed at our very first Harrisdale Senior High School Year 7 Drama and Year 8 Dance Showcase this evening. Students performed with great energy and enthusiasm presenting their Reader’s Theatre, mime and circus skills and Hip-Hop performances that they have learnt and devised throughout Semester 1.
Congratulations on a spectacular night!
Exploring Physical Theatre
Last week, Mrs Spanbroeks Year 10 Drama students welcomed Ben Rogan from Black Swan Theatre into the classroom. On Friday, students participated in exercises exploring Physical Theatre, embodying different elements and characters, bringing scenes to life!
