Harrisdale SHS takes home the trophy again in this year’s Interschool Athletics Carnival!

Well done to all the Harrisdale SHS students who participated in last week’s interschool athletics carnival. Congratulations on your efforts, your time and dedication have certainly paid off!

Over 110 events were held throughout the day, with Harrisdale students placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a majority of the events, finishing on 1166 points!

2022 Interhouse Athletics

…and the winning house is Skeet!

Today winds up our 2022 Interhouse Athletics Carnival.

Congratulations to Skeet house for finishing with a combined score of 7825 points! Closely followed by

Second Place – Forrest House on 7069 points

Third Place – Keane House on 6664 points

Fourth Place – Harris House on 6116

Congratulations to our Champions and well done to all the students who participated in the carnival and those who came to show their support. We commended you on your behaviour and sportspersonship throughout the course of the days.

Year 7’s Enjoy their first HSHS Swimming Carnival!

This week, Harrisdale SHS hosted their lower school Swimming Carnival. It was a day of friendly competition and an opportunity to build companionships with their peers. Congratulations to Harris House for taking the lead, finishing on 2085 points for the day. A huge congratulations to our championship boys and girls, as well as all of our competitors for the day. A fun day was had by all!

VWA Schools Beach Cup

Bright and early on Sunday morning, 17 Volleyball teams from Harrisdale SHS headed up to City Beach to participate in the VWA Schools Beach Cup. The competition was fierce, with 129 teams from all over the state taking part on the day. With 50km winds to start the day, teams persevered with some amazing rallies, big spikes and blocks played! Of the 17 teams registered, 10 teams successfully made it through to finals, with the results below:

Well done to all of the Harrisdale students who participated in today’s interschool athletics carnival. All the hard work and training has definitely paid off with Harrisdale taking the lead early in the afternoon, finishing on 2318 points!

Schools Sports WA (SSWA) Netball Carnival

For a program still in its formative years, netball at Harrisdale SHS is performing really well. At this week’s Schools Sports WA (SSWA) Netball Carnival, four of our teams placed second, one placed third and the other a creditable fifth (as they competed against teams with combined year groups). This was a terrific result for our development squad.

We are very proud of our netball students and the high level performance on the day. Our students were highly regarded by other schools with some fantastic feedback on how well our new teams played. Well done!

Swimming Carnival Honours go to Harris!

In a day of competition, fun, camaraderie and good school spirit, Harris House came through as the winners at this year’s lower-school swimming carnival. Congratulations to champion boys and girls and to all competitors for a great day at this year’s intra-school carnival. Full results will be published in the next edition of our newsletter.

A Flying Start to Harrisdale SHS’s 2021 Netball Program!

Our Year 7 and Year 8 netball teams honed their teamwork and skills in an afternoon of friendly competition against Kelmscott SHS and each other this week, with the Harrisdale team taking the lead with three wins and one 6 -6 draw.

The spirit of competition, fair play and teamwork stood out among all players from both schools. We congratulate our Year 7 and 8 netballers and their dedicated coaches for getting our new netball program off to a flying start in 2021!

Metro All-Stars AFLW News

We enjoy hearing about our students’ successes in their sporting interests outside school, and congratulate Year 10 student Nadya for being selected for the Metro All-Stars U/17 AFLW squad after just a two-year involvement. Nadya has also been invited to join East Fremantle Football Club to start pre-season training for the U/18 Rogers Cup and she was recently awarded Runner Up Best & Fairest for the Fremantle Conference in the Year 11/12 all-female competition. Well done, Nadya!
