Over the weekend, a number of Harrisdale SHS students attended the 2022 National History Challenge State Presentations. Our Year 10 students Raina, Lufei, Elana and Shruthi completed the activity as part of their Humanities and Social Sciences Formative Assessment for History, creating a website on ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ท๐ฐ๐ญ๐ถ๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ญ๐ญ๐บ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ฎ ๐๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ณ๐บ and were selected as the National Winners in the category of their year level, and are the only National Winners from WA in 2022!
Based on the NHC theme for 2022, ๐๐ข๐ถ๐ด๐ฆ๐ด ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด, they took us on a journey of Bollywood. As a result, these four Harrisdale students are off to Canberra at the end of the month!
In addition to the success of the above students, we would also like to congratulate our other winners;
Year 7 student, Griffin Tojo, winner of the State Gold in the Year 7 category with his essay on the Causes and Consequences of the RMS Titanic. Along with the State Silver winners; Chris Gregory Babu (Year 7), Evan Johnson (Year , Ronnel Sunogan (Year 9) in the Special Category of Indigenous History and Year 11 student, Layla Cochran in the Year 11/12 category.
