The Harrisdale SHS Specialist Volleyball Program focuses on developing high level performance and advanced technical skills in a selective setting. Beyond sporting excellence, the program emphasises character development, self-discipline, and fostering a sense of team spirit. Affiliated with APEX Volleyball Club, it provides students with opportunities for both indoor and beach volleyball experiences.
The program is for students in Years 9 and 10 providing the opportunity to represent the school in State level competitions. They can also obtain nationally recognised qualifications in refereeing and coaching.
Our Specialist Volleyball Program offers a selective entry pathway for students in Years 7-12, providing high-level training and competition opportunities. Students trial annually for a place in their respective squads and train before or after school, focusing on skill development, offensive and defensive strategies, and game intelligence.
As part of the Specialist Volleyball Program, students are positioned to compete in major beach and indoor tournaments throughout the year, including prestigious events run by Volleyball WA and School Sport WA. Beyond their volleyball skills, students in this program develop strong teamwork, leadership, and professionalism.
The Harrisdale SHS Volleyball Club provides additional opportunities to enjoy and develop skills in the game.
Trials for places in the Specialist Volleyball Program are held early at the start of each school year. Players are required to re-trial for their place in the squad each year.
Students who wish to be a part of the Specialist Volleyball classes will be required to complete an EOI form in late Term 1, and may be required to trial in mid Term 2.
